General Discussion / My apologies to Lowlands and the Exiles
« on: October 31, 2018, 06:37:06 PM »
Sorry everyone.  It was my intention for all the lands my family controlled to go to you all.  It was a mistake to assume that retiring a character would set in motion the same inheritance that death does.
Come to think of it... why does it not?  If I retire a character I have to run around and hand each settlement to someone?  Ridiculous.
That is why I am finished here.  Too much of the games fundamental elements are not complete or require too much effort and time to do.  Love this game and its ideas...hate that people are able to play it using bots to manage things.
Peace.

General Discussion / The biggest mistakes I ever made in MF are...?
« on: March 12, 2018, 02:42:09 PM »
Half asleep this morning, I accidentally disbanded (instead of set as militia) 330 warriors, most of them heavy cavalry.

Made me wonder what other very stupid mistakes people have made?  Anyone?

Helpline / Artifacts - Dead creator
« on: January 24, 2018, 03:23:19 PM »
As I understand it, if the owner of an artifact dies, the artifact will return to its creator.  What if the creator is dead?  Where will the artifact go?

If the answer is "its lost", then will the player's account be able to create / recreate the artifact?... why?

Are we supposed to be reporting these?  Or are we letting them remain?

Conduct & Design Discussion / Baggage train
« on: May 23, 2016, 11:40:14 PM »
Well... having a real baggage train in the game is a flop.

I knew that starvation is a very real threat in the game.  That realistic problem is one of the drains on motivation and energy leading to stagnant play.  Always has been a fine line to balance but...anyway.

Some day I hope to see more alerts on starving entourage.  But for now I have to say real baggage trains are not viable.

I had a great army ready and fully supplied.  Thousands of food in reserve, tons of weapons and armor... everything I could hope to have.  Planned it out for months.  Kept the entourage stocked away in Valenshallen waiting for the next war to take place to put it all into action.  Had even taken the time to train a great cavalry army with horses and warhorses in my supply.

When the war came I marched my well equipped army out and had some good fights.  But then I missed logging in for two days.  When I cam back all my food was gone and the starvation had begun setting in.  Of course I kept my experiment in motion.  Tried to do things to save the army, but forgot about my entourage/baggage train.  Poor people starved waiting on me.

Now I have the following equipment on a bunch of dead entourage.  I will have to park this character somewhere in the hope that we can some day recovered equipment from dead entourage.

Food on the go is a killer.  IMO having an entourage member "hunter/gatherer" who can produce food out of thin air would be a great way to push armies into conflict.  They basically go around showing soldiers what they can or can not eat.  Maybe a % chance that some soldiers will get sick from it and be considered wounded.

No need to tell me our current development situation.  I understand.  Just wanted to share the thought.

Conduct & Design Discussion / Hiring mercenaries during battle
« on: May 13, 2016, 07:19:10 PM »
Was interesting to find out that even though battle prep is taking place you can still hire mercenaries.  When you hire them, a timer comes up saying how long the hiring will take.  That time puts it outside the battle timer.

So the battle should take place prior to the finishing of hiring.  BUT they already show up as being involved in the up coming battle.

Is the mercenary timer not fully implemented?  I had assumed they would not be involved with the first fight, yet I wanted them under my banners before the enemy could get to them... so that I could start a second fight to run them off.

Would like to know the intent of game so we know if it is bad form in the future.

Helpline / Bury the dead and aparently the living too
« on: January 07, 2016, 07:04:40 PM »
On this character - http://mightandfealty.com/en/character/view/589

I was disengaging from battle, at the same time I went in to bury dead, hit the button and it removed every soldier including the wounded and the living.

edit:  I checked on other characters who are in battle but have dead soldiers, the only option they have is to bury the live soldiers.

Helpline / Recovering equipment from the dead - Using Entourage
« on: December 22, 2015, 03:56:11 PM »
I noticed today that not all equipment is salvaged after you bury the dead.  That sounds intentional which is a good random thing I think.  But I wanted to point it out just the same.

When the dead were buried I expected to salvage more than I got.  Here is the Expected vs actual:

Plate: 10/6, Horse 14/9, Sword 8/8, Warhorse 1/1, Chainmail 5/3, Broadsword 5/2.

This was tested intentionally by making sure I had plenty of entourage to take the equipment before burying.

Helpline / Dead Entourage - salvaging equipment from the dead
« on: December 21, 2015, 05:59:51 PM »
I could nearly taste the bile in my mouth this morning as I choked back tears from spilling out and breakfast from coming up...

Why my entourage did not eat each other as they died I do not know... but they are dead now and in their cold grip is most of the equipment for my army.
I can confirm that when you bury entourage, the equipment does not go to other entourage.  I wanted to test this just to see, after the change to dead warriors.  If this is a change that is going to happen, please let us know.  This was months of preparation lost, so I do not want to bury them if that is a change that will come out.  Takes way too long to gather the high end equipment.

Is it random which ones die first?  I would rather be able to tell the camp followers with axes that "hey those warhorses are more important...so drop your axes and go get them"  Or maybe give priority of food to the high end.

Conduct & Design Discussion / Death information
« on: December 15, 2015, 08:22:08 PM »
This has been bothering me for a while.  Not a huge deal but it would be great to know where our characters died.  Most times you look someone up thinking to know a bit about them and find it says "died in battle" but it does not say which battle or what location...

Maybe now that war decorations are coming into play we can see what war and location the death took place at?  Really I would love more information such as the battle report (brief version showing casualties and nobles involved) to be tied to a dead character.

I have 28 dead characters (some were never in the game) 18 live characters.  They are interwoven into other realms and families, some have missing parents they have never met.  When I run into characters for RP I check those connections to see if anything should be known between the two.  It would help to not have to keep a notebook with me lol.

Playing on the go, at home, at work, at everywhere... I would look like a total geeknerd and never get laid again.

Thanks

Conduct & Design Discussion / Military Aid - Request
« on: December 01, 2015, 07:10:26 PM »
Would it be easy to allow military aid to be set with lists?  I know this can get strange when there is civil war but hey, that is the combatants problem to set the aid properly for their situation.

Also I think it should be something that can be done even while in battle.  The idea of military aid is to make sure we do not have to stay up all night monitoring things.  So if someone comes in an attacks my friend, I should be able to set my military aid to help him out once my battle is done.  Right now I would have to stay up until my battle is done before I can set it, and if I am engaged again it stops me from being able to set it.

One last item on military aid.  When you set military aid for multiple people, they all show up in the 'action que' as "military aid" it takes three clicks to figure out who you are aiding.  If I want to remove someone from that, I have to open them each up until I find which one to cancel.

Thanks,
