Helpline / Soldiers just gone?

25 soldiers seems to disappear with no trace in [3549]. They are mobilized, seemingly removed from militia count, but did not appear on mobile soldiers count. Time is 9-23-1  17,20 pm.

While I am really tired of opening subjects that affects things to make playing a crap, I will likely send some post as long as I have desire to log in at all.

So, if evade mechanics encourages trolls to sit whole day to make the best out of statistics, rendering other aspect of the game meaningless, rendering playing meaningless in the same way, I am wondering what are the chances that I try to initiate 5-6 battles against 2-3 opponents, which all evaded, that makes between 10 and 15 successful evades in row, than when I am in position to have to evade, in 2 subsequent battles, 5 of 8 evades fail.

what is statistic probability of that? such things do happen once in million times in reality, but from my long-time gone programming days i know, that all codes use artificial random generators which tend to minimize such "impossible" events?

is there some new way found how to fool evasion, or some tweak is just applied two days ago?

again, it is saddening that mere playing vs. trolling depends on such thing like evasion chance.

I don't want to even complain any more to the examples of ugly play that always seem to come from the same people, so I will open that thread to serve as a kind of "wall of shame", which would expose those who play ugly and provide example to all how to not behave. The other inputs are welcome.

So. character called
Ma Fara Sena ♂    known as "Whose Whispers Chain"is trying to get into battle my weaker char who evades. During battle preparation he is assigning some of his soldiers to my char, apparently in order to "confuse" or circumvent evasion mechanics. Assigning soldiers to the opponent on the other side of battlefield has no any in-game sense, the only sense is obviously to undermine game mechanics so I am posting it here as an example of ugly play.

Helpline / How to repair a bridge?

Bandit damaged one bridge and I am receiving myriad of event messages how bridge is deteriorating and workers should be assigned to repair, but there is no any button to do that. There is also no bar which shows bridge damage.

Rage Zone / Endless trolling by round-the-clock harassment

So one of my characters was wandering around as many of them do, found one abandoned settlement and went to grab it.

It's not surprise when such action causes somebody's reaction, but the way I am exposed to round-the-clock spamming again and again is truly outrageous.

By the time I logged in again, 5 new characters spawned in or around that settlement already. Some of them ordered abandoning all fortifications of settlement, which took place on turn change. The others came on retaking the settlement.

All of them with no saying a single word. What is particularly annoying, some of them are presented as new players, which is apparent abuse of someone who is using multi accounts, that is seemingly not forbidden by now.

I could switch off new character spawning in the settlement to avoid most of those troubles, but that is not a point.

I have more important things in life than playing M&F and trying to play it in as relaxed way as possible, and interact with friendly people. I don't bloody care whether I will lose or win one single settlement as long as I have chance to play meaningfully.

However, I already feel as true harassment having someone to breath by my neck all the time, every time tick, forever. It is like some really makes efforts to push out players from the game not by playing, but literally by trolling and spamming the game, there is no other description for such "playing style".

I myself spawn many characters, but each of them has recognizable name, his family ties can be easily traced. They don't hang around every bloody time tick in game neither they drill through game mechanics to find any possible exploit. They don't appear as army of new spawned characters, they don't fake that they are new players, and they interact with anyone willing to interact at all.

This what I face with is, sorry, crap, and I am pretty sure that I am not the only one hit with it, and it's like some really wants to ravage game atmosphere. Stop it!

I remember times where re-election was big problem when ruler goes to slumber. everything seemed to run fine for long already, but now in house pike no elections took place after ruler went to slumber. that very ruler was properly elected when previous ruler went to slumber, but this time elections did not take place and there are weeks already that realm is without a ruler.

There is something like construction and training advancement bars have changed colors and contrast is lost. Or it's again firefox of mine?

So that's the subject I am going back to in regular intervals for quite loong time now, and it is elaborated in many other thread. Here I would try to remind on that, to summarize and be as concise as possible.

1. Troops who attack and run through vast distances of enemy territory should be penalized much more. The most direct application I see to it is to increase starvation in comparison to peasants starvation much. Large cities for rl years-long construction of building collapse completely for attacking troops merely sitting around cities. That does not make any realistic sense. Building losing their function after being 1% damaged make no sense at all. The adverse consequences are:
- any strategy related to geography and settlements is meaningless as the only thing which is worth its price is strong moving troop
- for that reasons the only meaningful war is reduced to on group of moving troop chasing another, where background is completely ignored for the above mentioned reasons. That is tasteless war, imho.
- further on, skills and subtle achievements do not come from planning, interaction, dedication to depth of the game, but only to very shallow chasing the clock the whole day, running around watchtower, ambushing, waiting for every single movement tick. only to player's activity.
- economy is meaningless as well. there is only one linear path, to train as many of the strongest possible troops, everything else is unimportant. and the only advantage come through the length of playing which  gives more time to develop strength that cannot be competed in any way. Land-grab from slumbered lords is the only alternative to this monotonous trip, and it's not surprise that most of the game events hovers around that currently. what is purpose of economics if you cannot play economic game, like adopting one economic concept and competing with players who adopt different concept' the answer is: there is no meaning, economics is currently only pain in the ass that slows down our reach to strongest troops.
- for the mentioned reasons wars are very unpredictable, because of the fact that there are only few players able to play around the clock all the time. all the others know that they can lose almost everything for just not being active in some limited period - and they logically tend to avoid any risk. this means guaranteed lack of interesting events.
- preparation times, regroups and similar help little or not at all. players who cannot chase the clock will have no much help of them, players who are very active are just annoyed for waiting.

2. Limiting abilities of moving attacking troops could:
- focus warfare on strategic issues of taking and holding settlements. to plan campaign, players would plan on how to take settlements, not how to run around the watchtowers in specific hour of day. more chess-like game, less mouse and cat game
- provide incentive for many limited wars that would be run around neighboring lands while at the same time encouraging more leaders to go into wars that carry less risks
- make emperors do what emperors ordinary do: run high politics, decide on which among many limited wars to focus, playing strategy instead of merely ordering the whole realm to summon troop at rally point A.

I see only good things in this concept. :)

oh, i see that i am noticing too much, is it just me? :(

something has changed with m&f run on firefox in last three-four days.

firstly i noticed that basic font has changed, which is not a big deal.

now, i see, on militia page, when i click on a single tick, the whole page reloads that includes some page jumping up and down. that is truly annoying: to tick two boxes one next to another i have to wait for 4-5 seconds each time as page jumping during reload prevents me from quick ticking. :( it can be imagined how it looks like when you want to tick on 100 soldiers quickly.

this is something from last several days...

i did not update firefox in the meantime.

Is there something broken with evasion concepts? it looks as every evasion succeeds, troop with 150 soldiers successfully evades every attack by say 50 soldiers troop?

During dungeon research it is exactly 240 gold my char plundered, read from event reports.

However, when exploration is finished, he received only 60 gold.
