I noticed that the whole map seems to have opened up recently and to be honest I think we do not have the playerbase to make a landmass that big dense enough for good gameplay, on the other hand having it open can be good considering there are no more locked areas and we would finally see the history of the whole gameplay world develop, or it could be a glitch I suppose. In any case, discussion is warranted.

How can a character leave a realm and/or remove settlement allegiance to a particular realm without declaring it to another ? There does not seem to be an obvious way to do these things.

Rage Zone / The urge to edit map features !

While I understand that some amount of persistence is a must given the nature of the game and that some interpretation of such a feature is planned, it bloody pisses me off that there is no way to abandon and destroy map features, it's a real OCD bleeding wound that never closes. Truly we do have more important things to do but damn, the pain is real and of course I exaggerate, but it is a nagging sort of thing that's always in the back of my mind. The pointless roads, the mistakes, the signposts... the pain.

It is time for us to address the great danger of Rathgar. Rathgar is strong. Rathgar is powerful. Rathgar does not exist.
What is Rathgar? Rathgar is an idea, a concept founded by Bear all those millenia ago when the Godswar ended and a handful of the survivors formed the first clans. "Come to this land and be its people." An idea that took root so strongly it bound together a score of clans. An idea so powerful that twice now it has been used to utterly humiliate the southrons below.
It is that power that I fear, that power we should all fear, a power we have embraced too quickly. If Bear still had form, he might have warned us against this, as he no doubt did in the past, but Bear is gone and we must master our own fate.

There are no kings in Rathgar. This was always our way, has always been our way, and now I see our way sliding away from us. Twice now, the southrons have come and twice we have pushed them away - not merely a single clan defending itself with honour, but all of Rathgar responding to the beck and call of a persuasive few. How long until it becomes a persuasive one? How long until that one becomes all?
When all men bow to the wishes of one man, that man is king - be it in name or in fact. How would this king forge his kingdom? Not be the sword but by the word. The double-edged sword, the strength and weakness of Rathgar, is the Common Lendan. Our shared cultures, our shared wills are enough. Yet with the Common Lendan we speak as one, move as one, think as one, and it is only a matter of time before one dictates it.

Let there be no kings in Rathgar. Let us shatter the Common Lendan and put an end to the power that will destroy us. Let us be free men, true to our hearts and our words, and let Bear smile upon our actions.

Helpline / Setting settlement permissions or lack thereof

So, given one of my characters is away at an important meeting, I wanted to make use of the recently announced setting of settlement permissions from afar and discovered that only construction queue management seems to work, although clearly set, recruitment, troop mobilization, and trade management permissions have no effect. Could be that they simply are not implemented fully yet, but I figure it won't hurt to clarify as the construction permission works fine. Character #101 setting remote permissions for settlement #2747.
