I think it's a good thing. People should not hold settlements they can not defend. Lords sitting on 20 settlements (most of which are empty vessels funnelling food elsewhere) are not good for game's health.
Not an attack on you, nanaki, just a thought that it's something that should not be fixed. Works as intended, if you ask me.

No worries man, I was regarding to how this guy whom I know loves to do these tactics. Saw I had 1 settlement setup with allow nobles to spawn perms. Instead of even trying to start a conversation they begin taking the settlement from me. Shortly after executing their "newly" spawned noble. I get a lovely quip on my new main characters profile about how she likes to sneak around and ambush people. Pfft..

This is intentional for any characters under 2 game days old in order to prevent people from spawning them into an area just to have extra manpower (because player characters are ridiculously powerful when compared to mortals).

Thank god... I was wondering when this would be implemented. Had some guy go full meta break on me few weeks ago. Comes into my land, suddenly spawns in a noble and tries to take control of the settlement before I could stop them.

Sadly without Roran Ascalon isn't Ascalon. It is why I suggested to them they consider abolishing the realm and starting fresh. New diplomacy, new alliances, new enemies, new genuine interactions. But like I said in my *shrugs* post that got shot down in a massive huff by the "clique" as it were.

*goes thud* Even Turant learned to not piss off Vanessa. Kinda shocked things have devolved into such a state. I think now is a good time as any to remove Silas from that realm before it's too late.

I'll consider it when I find a good IC way to perform it.

You know I am honestly getting very tired of the OOC chat in Ascalon. So my new character just decided to cancel a mass of metal trade to Arescod? Big whoop, since then revealing I am the owner of that toon. I have been nailed with criticism among other things that are not worth mentioning. However since it is an OOC discussion, I consider everything said to be in the words of the player. Insults of me not knowing anything, especially after I offer an idea to abolish Ascalon and rebuild a new realm. That got shot down and who is now enemy #1? You guessed it! sigh...Honestly I think I will just kill Silas and let Ascalon rot for all I care. It's clearly obvious now that the people running it are too scared to do anything worthwhile.

Can't say I ever regretted serving the Flambards, I wish that I had followed Caspian to the Imperium but maybe we will meet there again one day. I think Ascalon needs its OOC thread taken away honestly, force IC all the time.
What you ask violates basic moral practice of administration over large communities. The OOC discussion board is literally just that. However sad as it is, yes some people cannot keep OOC from affecting IC action. Believe me I have seen this happen so many times it is utterly hilarious. Forcing OOC discussions to not exist is simply a fools game. Whats to stop someone from *cough* making an IRC channel *cough* for said discussions? Can M&F administration admin that area? nope not in the slightest! Trust me OOC discussion seems like a massive back stabbing festival sometimes. But when you sit and think about it on a lot of logical terms. It's kinda required when said realm is managed by so few people. There is nothing against "planning" out IC actions as long as everyone is onboard with it and acts accordingly. The only time OOC / IC should never cross paths is in international relation and actions so forth.

Damn it, sorry I actually confused the islands! I was talking about that island everyone thought was cursed awhile back.

The original system I was going to implement in Muras was as follows.
Kaenlar was the primary capital of Muras, with access only by invite. Edo was the main gathering zone for new players, vilnar would act as another bracket. But because of the original 1st misuse of the militia bug I ordered all settlements to be shutdown for new players. I was waiting for when the bug got ironed out to reopen the land again. But also I wanted to achieve a sort of immersive RPG like setting for each starting point. Hopefully with this happening in Ascalon, perhaps this will force people to change their tune about isolation.

Ohhh now that sounds like what me and Roran were trying long ago. We tried to take over that heart shaped island, the intention was to make it a free for all land. Anyone was invited to participate in the fun. But we were then shortly shutdown as someone just up and took the lands from is.

Honestly this is why I've become so paranoid lately. I actually have new player spawning disabled in all my settlements. You actually have to spawn in some off area to get near me now. Sometimes shocked no one else adapts that as a practice. It's a great way to make sure only specific settlements are where new people spawn.

I will say this much then.

When the new server comes into effect. For the love of the gods shutdown the game, iron out the most broken of bugs. Then prepare for a new dark age to begin. Yes I am basically saying to reset the world outright. I think it's high time a new world actually started.

Are you fairly certain it's members of Ascalon doing this. I know someone (they were heavily punished for it) from Ascalon did it a long time ago. But now after this whole debacle with the militia bug is just... I can't even. Perhaps an official shutdown on creating new characters should be enforced? At least only until the server move actually happens.

Well tell that half wit asshole thank you for me. I am done with this fucking game. I have put up with so stress in this game. It is not even fun anymore, even I enjoy a little bullshit now and then. But when my hard earned garrison of 350 soldiers is stolen from me. All because a fucking player decided to abuse a LONG STANDING BUG THAT HAS BEEN AROUND FOR OVER 1 YEAR OR SO. YEAH I am entitled to being extremely mad. So no I am done, fuck Artos, fuck Caspian, fuck the ass who abused this exploit.

I am sorry for the anger. But I believe I am justified for this one time on it.

Anyway to make my post at least relevant to this post.

This players toon showed up at and stole 350 or so militia. Then immediately killed themselves.

hjeh heh heh I am personally enjoying causing a stink with said player in the Grand Fate as my other Character. I'm certain a few already know which iron clad priesstess we all know and love it is. but no really I was actually quite angry with whoever is playing the eastwoods. Like seriously, if you're gonna cause a war to happen. Don't make it obvious what your intentions are until it's to late for the intended victim to know it.
Isn't that right whoever brought the fall of Ariamis into fruition :P
