Stories to tell / Re: The Awakening
« on: December 28, 2017, 04:35:25 PM »
As he slept,  he dreamed.

Not peaceful dreams of a comfortable slumber but dreams of terror, of violent storms and reeling ships, the loss of his father on their fateful voyage to the new world and the clash of steel, the rivers of blood and flames of conquest that forged a kingdom in that new land.

He re-lived the days of Rathgar, their march south into the lands of the Empire, their glorious crusade to stifle the encroaching masses of the southern gentiles.  A united Rathgar, a glorious ripple in the eternal life he had lived which filled his chest with the warmth of pride and brought tears to his eyes as slept.  They had conquered.

He dreamed of betrayal, Rathgar devoured from within, lives stolen from his line and his humans slaughtered in their hundreds.  He stood once again on the mountain of the bear, watching as his villages burned.  The spirit of the bear appearing to him and his allies, urging them forward, the clans of Sky, Stonedman and the Alumaani, the saviours of Rathgar.

He stood once again on the fields of battle, a cataclysmic conflict that shook the bowels of the earth and saw the northmen die in their thousands.  Entire generations of humans wiped from the world and First Ones falling in their dozens, thousands of years of knowledge blinked out in a mere moment of time.  Unspeakable tortures, oaths broken and his nemesis Tan De Serra laughing over the bodies of his Kin.

His spear trailed blood and flame as it tore through the lines of never ending foe, he carried the Luin Letchar, the spear of the sun and it burned as it passed through the bodies of his enemies.  A madness overcoming him, a rage boiling up once more, revenge was close, victory assured, his body tensed as his mind wandered in this dream of remembrance and he drew closer to the standard of their king.  He would have the revenge that had evaded him in life, here now, in this dream.  He would behead the snake, leave his body to the worms and then turn his attention to his generals.

Then the picture shifted and the banners of his foe flew away from him, his enemy from his reach, just as they had retreated from him in life, they now moved beyond his grasp and his revenge was yet again un fulfilled.

He stood alone in the darkness of his mind.

Not alone…”wake up” the voice whispered in his ear.  “It is time for you to rise again”.

Belemont Alumaani opened an eye, slowly, persistently, as the fluids of decades had sealed tight his lids and the light of the future blinded his retina, the skin slowly parted.

His memories flooded into his brain along with the long lost light of the sun.  War.

His enemies had been crushed but in victory he faced the loss of his consciousness, his ability to protect his own.  His family were all dead now, he felt their loss like a chasm in his heart, he had not been there to protect them.

A new age dawned...new plans and a new purpose.

LOL...i didnt mean to suggest you were an idiot or anyone else was.  There was definately a bug there because he was taking the settlement.  I had 24 soldiers and couldn't engage.  I set them to militia to slow down the takeover and moved multiple characters in to oppose.  He was there but no-one could engage him so im simply suggesting it's a ghost player...ie it's somehow not flagging up in the usual way :)

Please dont take my comments as offensive, simply trying to iron out the issues.

The  noble is no longer around.  Guys, dont treat me like a frigging idiot, you all see the connections behind the screen so if this character has stopped carrying out a TO then you can see it.  Tell us whats happening please?

The fact that you are incredulous tells me to be wary of your contribution.

He's disappeared.  Andrew, im not in the business of just fucking you around, I loved this game from day one and someone is playing outside the rules.  Im no tech expert but surely you can check Acc ID and IP address against the action.  If they stopped because od this post then they are on the inside and know how it works

Andrew I can engage several other characters but not this one.  I am playing around with militia in the village to slow down the TO but having troops have never affected this.  You have looked at a snapshot where I have no soldiers and so I have added soldiers to the character again.

Still not able to see this character in the initiate combat list.

ITS LIKE ITS A GHOST CHARACTER.

So the character http://mightandfealty.com/en/character/view/6915 is taking my settlement and I can oppose him but not engage him as he doesn't appear on the list for initiate battle.

He is in the settlement and his history reads that he was recently beheaded so not sure how he is taking my settlement.

Can anyone look into that for me please?

General Discussion / Re: So whats happening?

Hi...am I in the right place?  This is Might & Fealty isn't it?  Someone is mighty and the rest swear fealty...or am I missing something?  Valast, im on my way mate but not sure what you mean about stirring it up ;)

So for anyone that doesn't know me i'm one of the original players who at one point probably had the most settlements and single force of all the players.  Tom could probably tell you what the numbers were exactly at my peak, but I reckon it was around 60 settlements and at least 10000 warriors, around 3000 of which were heavy troops when there weren't many heavy troops at all.  At the time I received a huge amount of criticism regularly about being a 'privileged' player and dominating the rest of the game, players would attribute that level of achievement to power gaming and my buy in of the kickstarter campaign rather than to the simple dedication and time invested into the game.

I left the game and abandoned all of my troops and settlements, im starting the game with zero...I want to try and see what it's like from a beginners position and I will happily report on the progress I make from the bottom and hopefully connect with some of the players thought processes which cause the real anger I can see still floating around here.

All the best!
