This village has stables, and its a mountain region. I already started deconstructing it myself though.

And this forest settlement apparently has a mine.

It's next to a mountain. It's almost certainly a metal-producing region, so it can in fact have a mine. A mine in a non-metal location won't actually make anything anyway.

I wouldn't worry about stables in mountains too much either, it would be the crappiest exploit ever. You need lots of food to make horses.

Yes, but the Mine specifically states "Can only be built in mountains and hills with metal ore in the ground." Which either makes it misleading, or a bug. Though I think it might just be a leftover from when these requirements didn't exist, and noone has removed these buildings yet, as I cant build the mine in some of my other non mountains regions.

The restriction on stables did not always exist, and thus older settlements can have them that would no longer be able to build them. For example I believe Hawks Hold still has the capacity to produce war horses, though I haven't trained any there for more then a year

It'd not be hard to have hills declared as part of the biome info, but it's a bunch of new translation strings.

What we may want to do is declare topography and biome, so you can have flat grasslands, rolling forests, hilly dense forests, very hilly badlands, and such.

Mountains as we know them, "rock" would probably be reclassified as tundra, if we went that way.

Then we should probably also have greener mountains. Where maybe food is a bit easier to get than tundra mountains. Both farming wise and hunting wise.

If anything, this would probably come alongside the plan to break down all the regions into smaller areas, so there'd be transition as you go "up" the mountain.
