Steam Summer Sale
« on: June 24, 2016, 04:15:10 AM »
So, apparently this big sale on Steam started today. Anyone picking up anything good?

I'm thinking about picking up Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, but I don't have a VR set. I just love the game idea. :-)

I have that problem as well. I was thinking of picking one up since I'm in the US right now, but I really don't feel like spending so much on a device that's not going to see frequent use compared to the rest of my computer.

Turns out you can also play it on a computer. So I went ahead and bought it. Now to find people to play it with. :-)

I caught up on the EU IV dlcs since I actually want to be able to play the game without the AI having 100+ advantages :D

I forgot their were more of those actually. But, after Stellaris, I don't think I can play any other Paradox game. They've finally embraced by one true genre--no other can compare.

In other news, I just picked up: Slime Rancher, Vilmonic, Unveil, Final Fantasy VIII, and Final Fantasy VI; among other things.

Battlelore: Command. It's really inexpensive in the sale and I'm having fun with it. It's a fairly casual turn-based strategy game. I also picked up Templar Battleforce and an interesting looking adventure game called The Silent Age plus a quirky adventure called Journal.

I've also picked up Galactic Civilizations III and some of the DLC, only to find that it crashes every time after the intro video. Even though my set-up meets the game specs and I've tried the troubleshooting advice I could find on their website. Ggrrrrr. I really wish developers would sort out these game breaking bugs before they actually put the things on sale.

I'm also thinking of picking up Battle Brothers, which looks superb and is well supported by enthusiastic devs who listen and respond, but I'm still cautious about buying early access games these days.

I didn't have any issues at all with GalCiv3, even right after launch. My only issue, I suppose, was that it wasn't as interesting as the second entry.

Battle Brothers has enough content to be a complete game, in my opinion. I bought into it months ago. I will warn you though, it's not a forgiving game.
