MaFFans.org Update Topic

I used to have one of these but it's really outdated, so I decided to start fresh.

General Updates
  • 20161008 - Moved to a new, better server. MaFFans.org is now the primary address over MightandFealtyFans.org, because it's shorter and easier to type.
  • 20160907 - Launched main site, presently mostly a devblog for the game.
  • 20160117 - New captcha on wiki due to previous one not liking the new software.
  • 20160115 - Major update to the wiki.
Main Site Updates (http://maffans.org)
  • 20161008 - Moved servers.
  • 20160907 - There is one now.
Wiki Updates (http://wiki.maffans.org)
  • 20161008 - Moved servers.
  • 20160117 - Swapped from KeyCAPTCHA to NoCAPTCHA (yes, that's a thing).
  • 20160115 - Imported one of BM's RealmBox templates, customized the stuffing out of it, and got it working. Currently supports Ruler/General/Judge, and 2 sets of 10 custom titles each.
  • 20160115 - In order to fix a longstanding annoyance, all wiki pages are now /w/PAGE rather than just /PAGE. While it looked sleeker, it hindered some admin stuff.
  • 20160115 - Wiki went down for a couple hours as I updated things. Sorry if it looked broken or you got a 404 or 500 error.

Fixed the wiki captcha issues by swapping to something fancier: NoCAPTCHA. I for one, bow down to my new Google Overlords.

Honestly more people should contribute to the wiki, I at least find it interesting. :-\

For anyone who's curious, I've actually setup a simple wordpress site at www.maffans.org that I'll use to detail my dev adventures. These will range from "How do I webserver" to actual code for Might & Fealty, and the logic behind some of my choices--if you ever wanted to know how I think. I can't guarantee it'll be amazing or greatly detailed, but I'll try to post something whenever I do something considered Dev-y in regards to M&F.

I may also post other random things in regards to M&F in general.

Expect an update probably tomorrow then. I was going to do some work tonight on getting a test server up, but got distracted by a video game I thought a coworker was going to join me in (spoiler: they didn't).

Just a heads up, the entire mightandfealtyfans.org and associated sites (wiki, blog, etc.) may stop working in the next few days for a hopefully brief period, as I transition them to their own hosting plan--a plan capable of running a live M&F test server, at that.

This will include both the mightandfealtyfans.org and the maffans.org domain names, as well as open up to include a more central, core site.

Server move complete. It may be 24-48 hours as the change propagates through the world's DNS, but everything is working on our end.
