Tom, you can do density maps though. Would it be possible to treat height as a density and map it that way?

We'll probably have to take some creative liberties with the mountain ranges regardless, just to make them look nice in CK2.

If it would be possible to get rivers included on the water map, that would be superbulous.

You definitely want to automate that part. I just don't know how to do it in QGIS. But you can take QGIS and I give you a shape file with the region data.

I'll give it a look, of course. Let me know where I can get your file. When I've got some time, I'll see what I can do.

Tom, would it be possible to get a map with the day 1 region names on it?

Not without some MAJOR effort. It would have to be reconstructed from the history logs.

Not that I consider them important. They were randomly generated, just to have some names to start with.

Different request. Could I get a map with the region IDs listed on it?

And would it be possible to get access to the event history for every region and realm in the game? The goal would be to model this CK2 mod to be as close to how things played out in M&F, starting with the initial realms, the expansions, the different realms that came up, the wars, etc.

I think at this point it's best if I gave you a QGIS file with all the data you need, then you can export your own images as well.

Probably. Might be able to do other creative things with it as well.

I'm going to have Wednesday off this week. Does that work for you?

Probably not. It's a bit of effort. I will see.

The GoT mod is truly amazing. I hope we can make an equally incredible M&F mod to rival it ;)

Actually, it's more than a map or history of owners, most of those games that have a mod in CK2 have already defined Lore and Background and aren't changing everyday, well the first step is the map, As you cannot keep up with the game and update the mod with everything that happens in M&F so the second step from my opinion should be bookmarks, you can find interesting events that happened in the M&F like world wars, Creation and Fall of Empires, and etc.

And there is also a problem, Religions and Cultures are Important in CK2, you can set cultures based on the Realms, or based on the ones in the Game (but they aren't very popular I guess, as they are taken from the Real World), Religions are even more Important but some of the realms religions are unknown, but other ones like Children of Armok or Cult of the Void seems to have interesting religions you can speak with them and see what they want in their religion, Religions should have some Special Decisions in intrigue menu, and have laws like taking concubine or taking more than one wife, so realms can be Great help in how they want to their religion or culture be, and about titles on the map, a lordship in CK2 could contain 7 settlements, so putting the villages in one Lordship can helps alot to have a clean map.

Flags are the hard part, as the Realms don't have Flags only some of their rulers have Heraldry and house crest so you can ask them about their flags, otherwise it would be all random flags.

And now the interesting part the Events, they depend completely on the Bookmarks, you can find what happened in those bookmarks and set events for them, events add flavour to the game and really they are what keeping you to play the mod.

So if I want to make it simple in a Brief Todo List, I would make it like this:

Map
Portraits (Only if you want to add custom ones, which I think isn't necessary, You could randomize Portraits of Rulers or Create ones based on their Appearance)
Images (For Events)
Units (You can use Default Unit types in CK2 or use the ones from M&F Instead)

Bookmarks (Interesting times in M&F like world wars or formation and fall of Realms)
Traits (Simple, just add ones from M&F to default ones in CK2, some of the Default ones in CK2 should be replaced or removed like religion ones)
Flags (I recommend Random ones as it would be too hard to set flags for every Country, Duchy, Kingdom and others)
Events (Mostly for Bookmarks, but religions and Realms can also have some special events created for themselves like revolts)
Modifiers (I think the Default ones in CK2 would do)

Characters (Adding all of Rulers would be hard, I suggest just adding ones that had essential part in their Bookmark and Randomize Others, unless you have a list of all of them)
Religions (Probably need to ask the Realms and Special Orders about their religions and their features)
Titles (Name of all of Villages, Sub-Realms and Realms)
Buildings (Buildings from might & Fealty and their effects and Modifiers)
Decisions (Both Intrigue Menu and Options Menu like Executing or Hiring Courtiers)
AI (How AI acts, this is actually essential for the Bookmarks, as they should act like their respective Rulers in the Game)
Councillors (Again, I think the ones in the Default CK2 will do, but you can change every realm's Councillor name to the Positions in that Realm)

There may be things that I have forgotten to Include, I hope this list helps you, I probably cannot help you on the technical side of creating Mod, but I may could help you with the concept, if there is anything I can do, please let me know.
