How to identify dungeons?
« on: August 13, 2015, 02:18:18 AM »
Are they clearly visible on the world map or what?

After you hit "play" for your character, the screen that comes up should contain a "nearby dungeons" section if any are near. Actually, now that I think about it, I'm not sure I have ever seen a dungeon in the most recently opened southern part of the map.

Yes they are visible on the map and you'll notice them considering they are different that features but you need to get very close to it and the you will get the extra tab to enter it which I recommend to do with company rather than alone, There are Knights Archaeologists for that too btw you should join them if you want to go find dungeons.

The north of the map is filled with them. In the south they are very scarce.

I have noticed the same. It got me thinking - are dungeons spawning in the newer region at all? Like I mentioned I don't think I have seen one.

My characters are in the south, and we've been through one a few weeks ago, and yesterday I spotted another one through rumours, although it is to the north, so it may be closer to the center of the continent.

Around half of the territories, and way over that in armies, of the north are controlled by a small group of people. Around 7 or 8 players. Check Skloddings, for example, which has over 200 soldiers per settlement, all of them controlled by a single player.

My hypothesis is that they probably never explore dungeons, unlike in the more diversely populated south. Since dungeons last until they are explored, that creates such a large concentration in the north, and scarcity in the south.

I'm with Rat here, plus the south has a realm who's sole purpose is to do dungeons as well a bunch of bored knights looking for stuff to do.

Even If I'm not exploring them someone definably is.

Easy solution: Go north. If someone is troubled by you entering their territory - more interaction. Yay! :-)

Okay- just to clarify. Are dungeons visible BEFORE you are near them? Or what? Like what would a dungeon be called? Is this a dungeon?

That is a border post or sign post. They are NOT visible on the map until they are in sight range. You have to use the "rumors" of dungeons that show up on the character's main page to guide you close enough.

Do they remain visible after you leave?

I don't believe so. If you take good notes on where it is located that shouldn't be an issue.

No. The map does not, at this time, track your "knowledge" of anything, mostly because those anythings can change.
