New vassal betrayal
« on: May 24, 2015, 05:04:52 PM »
Brand new vassal, maybe 30 troops. Managed to take my estate from me ( since he was inside) overnight somehow. I withdraw all but one of his soldiers, somehow gee still has 70 men. He's attacking another new vassal in the same estate and I won't get there in time to help. Don't understand how he has so many men or how he took my estate so quickly, it had dozens it'd militia. Maybe he somehow took the estate then mobilised the men for himself but how did it happen so quickly? Of course, no communication.  No more knight offers from me.

Did he loot and grab a bunch of Mercs?  Seems like an exploit an experienced player could use. Take a knight offer, loot inside a rich settlement, buy mercs, wreak havoc.

Even with troops though they TO should have taken longer. Did you have walls for the settlement? A TO I am running with 200 men against 18 militia takes 31 hours.

I found out what happened. Bear in mind this was one of my first ever estates, and I know that Tom did send out the warning about permissions. Turns out the new vassal accepted 30 soldiers in the knight offer, and due to lax permissions was able to recruit all my militia straight away and use them to take over the estate overnight.

So check your permissions, people!!

Fortunately he seems to be a pretty honest guy and might make a decent vassal.

Hmm, honest? I would think that a new player would hardly know to recruit the militia, or to even check if they have the permission to do so. In my experience honest players don't TO the settlement they just accepted a knight offer in, nor remove their lords militia to speed things up.

Said he was new and from BM. Has given balk the estate. Brazen move but I'll take what knights I can get if  he'll stick around.

And just ignored the warnings Tom puts on TO's for new characters, and knew to mobilise your militia. To me that simply doesn't add up.

Something very similar to this just happened to me. A character with a ridiculous name and backstory accepted my knight offer, initiated a battle, then bizarrely killed himself not long after. he had several other characters, all with silly names etc, on his family tree. I think it's just someone out to mess with other players' knight offers.

This is the exact same thing which is happening to me, people with incredible ridiculous names take my knight offers, start TO, off themselves and start being annoying gnats.

I request something be done with this troll, this is definitely NOT the way to behave.
