Forfeit battle / opt out
« on: March 31, 2015, 01:51:05 PM »
Had a character slaughtered when an enemy was reinforced with preposterous amounts of cavalry and archers. Since I started the fight, no way out. I propose a way to opt out and flee even if the cost is high, up to and including all your men. Is this unreasonable or open to abuse?

It's intentional that you can't back out. It's a concept - you commit to battle or you don't. Once you do, that's it.

I understand they intention of the commitment. I think we all realise sometimes the odds are ridiculous when you thought it was a sure thing. I'm only thinking about character insurance. Maybe instead you could opt to surrender and take your chances with an honorable foe?

Yes, I do plan to add a voluntary surrender feature, it's just somewhere down on the TODO list.
