Average Cost of Might & Fealty
« on: March 03, 2014, 11:29:22 AM »
Hi Tom,

Im looking at setting up a little bit of marketing help to give the game a push through my existing team but need to know a couple of things:

Have you identified a target client and what are their demographics?
What is the true cost per month to an average player in the game?
Have you a list of USPs?  (I can offer a few anyway)
Where and how do you market currently?
Whats the upper limit of numbers for players?
Is there an introduction offer?
Are there restrictions to image use?  (eg logos etc)
Can you forward PNGs etc if required?

I want to stress that this will be a slow burner as it will be in my spare time, of which I have little, but im keen to help and already engage a 4 man team for my own company specialising in internet marketing.

I don't have a demographic, and only an intuitive understanding of my target audience. Obviously, strategy and roleplaying people, as well as those interested in history and politics.

The cost will be about 5 Euros a month for most players, add a little bit for one-time expenses such as crests or culture packs.

USPs ?

At the moment I don't market at all. I was hoping for a bit of exposure through FB but that's really not worth the money I threw at it.

There is no upper limit to player count. There is an upper limit for speed of growth. I can probably handle 10,000 players - but probably not if they all sign up over the next 3 days. As long as the growth is so that I can keep up with unlocking regions, or creating whole new maps (which takes about two days to do) or, if it gets a lot, adding additional servers, there's no real limit.

Yes, there is an introduction offer. For the time being, everyone registering to the game gets 14 days of free game time.

Logos etc. can be used as you want, and I can supply HQ versions of them if you need them. Other graphics, such as the settlement images, can be used if you talk to me. Again, I have them available in twice the resolution I use in the game.

Thanks Tom,

USPs are Unique Selling Points, things that spring to mind that stand your game apart from the usual stuff.

I'll get started on a strategy but as I said, it will be a slow burner as im limited timewise.

Ah, ok.

In my mind, what makes the game unique is the concept of a true political sandbox - you can do anything, any other players, not game-mechanics decide on the consequences of your actions. In addition, the game is designed to literally run forever, it has not endpoint of any kind. It is not a building game where you've reached "full build" and then enter the endgame, but it is based on constantly fluctuating equilibriums.
